Every Fabric Has a Story

Take a moment and look around you.

The clothes you're wearing, the curtains by your window, the bedsheet you slept on, the towel hanging in your bathroom—almost everything around us is made of fabric.

We touch fabrics every single day.

But how often do we stop and ask:
Where did this fabric come from?
Who discovered it?
How was it made thousands of years ago?
Why does one fabric keep us cool while another keeps us warm?

Behind every thread lies a story of nature, human ingenuity, culture, trade, and craftsmanship.

Some fabrics have travelled across continents.
Some have built empires.
Some have quietly disappeared over time.
Others have survived for thousands of years and continue to be woven even today.

As a fashion designer, I've always believed that fashion begins long before a garment is stitched.

It begins with a fibre.

Over the coming weeks and months, I'd love to take you on a journey through the fascinating world of textiles. We'll explore fibres, fabrics, weaving traditions, ancient techniques, Indian textiles, and the remarkable stories hidden in the clothes we wear every day.

If you've ever been curious about the world behind a single thread, I hope you'll enjoy this journey with me.
